Wayne Peimann
Chair

Graduated from Concordia Senior College with a double major in molecular biology and Greek. He received a M.A. in Divinity from Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. Peimann is Senior Vice President of AngelCare, an organization that supervises international schools. He is working with expansion of schools and child sponsorship programs in Central America. AngelCare plays a major role in the Coalition’s “Holiday Magic for Kids.”

William M. Sturgeon, CPA
Vice-Chair and Treasurer

Graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Accounting. Has had extensive accounting experience with San Diego City Attorney’s Office, San Diego Auditor’s Office, and private accountancy firms. Sturgeon has had his own private practice since 1980. His involvement with the San Diego Coalition for the Homeless began in 1989.

Sandra A. Maynes
Secretary and Executive Director

Graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A. in Journalism/Public Relations emphasis. Maynes joined the Board of Directors in 2001 and was named Executive Director in 2002. She was executive officer of the Mother Goose Parade and has done volunteer work for Wings Over Gillespie, Fleet Week, Holy Trinity Jamborees, Boys and Girls Clubs, Day of Prayer among other events. Maynes is author of “Padres and Indians: Settling San Diego County’s Frontier.” She has contributed to the steady growth of the organization’s services to the needy population. In 2006, a scholarship fund was created to encourage needy children to stay in school to help stop the poverty cycle.
